The 27th Letter project is a great way to explore typography. It forces you to really examinethe subtleties and nuances of the different categories of typefaces; categories such as oldstyle, transitional, modern, and contemporary.

I considered a few different prefixes and suffixes, but eventuallydecided on the prefix "de-". The typeface I based on is Didot, which is a modern typeface.

The concept of my poster is deconstructivism architecture. Deconstructivism is a development of postmodern architecture that began in the late 1950s. It is influenced by the theory of "Deconstruction", which is a form ofsemiotic analysis. It is characterized by fragmentation, an interest in manipulating a structure's surface, skin,non-rectilinear shapes which appear to distort and dislocate elements of architecture, such as structure andenvelope. The finished visual appearance of buildings that exhibit deconstructivist "styles" is characterized by

unpredictability and controlled chaos. I designed my poster based on deconstructivism. I made a strange looked three-dimensional building. I also added many details on my poster, like cloud, trees, small buildings in the back. On the top the poster is thedescription of deconstructivism architecture, and I used "de" five times in this paragraph.
